Julie M. Gauthier



Julie M. Gauthier is a recognized expert in privacy and technology law and advises multinational and Canadian companies from various sectors on a wide range of strategic issues related to compliance with Canadian privacy law requirements, cybersecurity, information governance, anti-spam, technology licensing and consumer protection.

Julie speaks regularly at conferences and is the author of several publications pertaining to privacy, cybersecurity, biometrics, cloud computing and technology, including Biometrics law in Québec: security and privacy (in French, 2015 Thomson Reuters).

Prior to joining the firm, Julie was senior legal counsel for a Canadian leader in telecommunications and media, where she managed privacy compliance matters, supported the marketing, technology and operation departments with compliance issues, and with the preparation and negotiation of telecom commercial agreements, including with respect to 5G technology. She was a member of the Governance management committee and advised senior management on breaches of security safeguards.

Julie also worked during several years for a cybersecurity & forensic firm where she has gained valuable expertise in cyber incident management and breach response.
